Do you ever take the time to pamper yourself? I am spoiling myself a little this week. In addition to getting my hair done, I am going to a spa for a facial, a massage and a few fun “girlie” things.
Most of the time I tell myself I don’t have time for this stuff, but I decided it was time to make time. We all need to indulge a little once in a while.
So, make the time to treat yourself to something special. It might mean a trip to the spa, tickets to a sporting event, an afternoon at the museum, hitting a bucket of balls at the driving range, or just curling up with a good book (one having nothing to do with business) for a few hours.
This week’s article suggests some ways you can find more time to spend on yourself, as well as making time for your business.
Enjoy!

Is it hard to find time to do the things you want or need to do? The solution is simple: Clone yourself! Even though there is no mad scientist who can make an exact replica of you, you can multiply your efforts with a few simple strategies.
The first step is to delegate to staff and outsource to contractors. If you have staff, look for tasks you can transfer to them. If you do not have staff, look for individuals and companies you can hire to perform routine functions. For example, I freed up several hours a week when I hired a fulfillment service to ship books for me. A virtual assistant may be able to handle billing, Web site updates, and other functions for you.
Recruit a college intern to handle a project. The intern may run a publicity campaign, set up speaking engagements, do a Web site makeover, or set appointments with prospects.
Hire people who are better than you. You can be a great accountant, lawyer, consultant, or decorator without being great at things such as writing and distributing press releases. You could spend an entire day writing a press release, and it will not get the same results as one you pay someone $300 to write for you. How much does it cost you in lost billable hours to do it yourself? (Also see http://idealady.prwebdirect.com/ to get a powerful, professionally written press release.)
Get on the Web. A Web site markets for you 24 hours a day. Not only will more people find you through your Web site, the site can handle some of the routine calls you or your staff spend time on now. Orders submitted online take less time than orders received by telephone. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) posted at your Web site may eliminate some of the calls for information you now receive.
Create products that will go places you can’t. When you write a book, people who might never hear of you otherwise will learn about you through your book. Publishing a book means that you are thousands of places at once: bookstores, catalogs, Web sites and more. You may create information products (such as books and audio programs) or other products that complement your service. For example, a veterinarian might create products for pets, such as food, treats, clothing and accessories.
License your intellectual property. John Gray, author of “Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus,”provides training and allows counselors to use the Mars Venus name when they are licensed through his Mars Venus Institute. You not only create income streams by licensing your intellectual property, you increase awareness of your brand because it is in more places. You may be able to license something you have written, a design, an invention or a process.
When you create more free time, use some of it for leisure as well as investing some of it in your business. Use the added business time to do more marketing or increase your billable hours. The exposure you get through your clones (products and licensing) will generate profits and lead more customers to you, too.
