*From the Idea Lady*
Many of you said you like to learn about free resources. I have a great one for you this week. Marketing Sherpa has just released their Marketing Wisdom for 2006. It is a collection of marketing tips and real-life stories from 110 marketers and agencies. The link to download this year’s report, as well as those for the past three years, is below.
P.S. Be sure to check out tip number 104. It is from an especially brilliant marketer. ;o)

*Get Others to Promote You in Writing*
You probably guessed that I am the “brilliant marketer” I mentioned above. OK a bit of hyperbole, but I wanted to get your attention.
I have been actively working to get my words into places where they will be promoted by others, and exposed to a large audience. That includes article marketing, something I have written about in the past.
I have written several things that have been included in books authored by others. Some years ago, I had a chapter in “How to Publish and Promote Online” by M.J. Rose and Angela Adair-Hoy. Last year I was a contributor to “The E-Code” by Joe Vitale and Jo Han Mok.
A few months ago, I made a decision to actively seek opportunities to appear in books and ebooks published by others. The new edition of “How to Self-Publish and Market Your Own Book,” by Mack and Sara Freeman Smith, includes my success story about self-publishing. I have an article in the forthcoming edition of “1001 Ways to Market Your Books” by John Kremer. And, in addition to the Marketing Sherpa ebook, I have submitted articles to other ebooks that will be released later this year.
Your contributions to books and ebooks may be original writing you create especially for the project, or they may be articles you have previously written. You may modify something written for another purpose to fit the requirements of the project, such as focus or length.
Where can you find people looking for your contributions? Watch your e-mail. The Marketing Sherpa opportunity came in one of their regular e-mails. I have also found requests in postings to forums and e-mail discussion lists. Dan Poynter regularly posts requests from authors and publishers in his e-mail newsletter. Not only does having your work published in someone else’s book put you in front of a new audience, it positions you as an expert. After all, you must know something or they would not have included you, right?
